The heat is gonna come!!

I finally built the irrigation for the flower box. let's see how long the flowers are going to last. Brenner loves checking out the flowers for me!!

Billy & Brenner likes to check out the plants.

White Corn

I got this basil plant from the Tomato lady, they smell really good. I thought the wind killed it and it came back to life. I used some of them for my chicken dish. it was yummy. If anyone wants some. Come get some to cook!

Summer-time for the garden

The beans are growing tall but nothing bean looking yet!!

So does the cumcuber!! but no flowers what did I do wrong? Patient!!

My 3 tomato plants are getting big. See a lot of flowers but no tomato yet!!

I Burnt a Hairy Moth.

I should have taken some pictures of how I killed a moth on my tomato plants. Moth lay eggs and becomes tomato hornworm to eat tomato and pepper plants alive. I am glad I got them before they do anything. I found one this week. So I swatted it, pick it up with chopsticks half alive and burnt it in the hot grill. Gardening is a lot of works. Including killing which I don't mind to do. LOL.

Garden Updates - 10 days after the last post

Brenner's sugar snap peas are doing alright. hopefully we can get something out of it.

The broccoli is growing so big, taken over the space of my tomato plant. I guess it's a good shade for the broccoli since it can't take the las vegas heat.

My 2 Hawaiian tomato plants. I put fertilizer a week ago and boy they have grown so much. I think I need some fertilizer myself sometimes.

The beans are climbing on the net that I built. I am pretty proud of myself. It's interesting to see them climbing all on its own. It's getting too hot to stay outside watching them.

This is the third tries of the cucumber plants, I was planting them too early. But I kept putting in new seeds. Hey it's working so far.

one month after I planted.

Others drink a glass of wine around their garden. How about I just do a can of Coke. anyways, this is just to see how much the plants has grown. Brenner's sweet peas are doing good.

Besides Garden how about the Bass Pro Shop at Silverton

Billy and I took the boys to the Bass Pro Shop on Sat for Billy's birthday. It was fun, we were trying to explain, uncle Gary and Big Billy (Daddy) helped building this wonderful acquaium. Don't know if they even understand that. Little Billy even asked if we could stay there all day to watch the fish. At first he didn't want to go there. But we ended up had a good time.

almost 2 weeks later

Those are my good looking plants. (for now) Most of the plants didn't survive with the crazy wind that came last couple of weeks. My poor plants. The beans has sprouted and growing pretty good. Actually Brenner's flower box doing pretty good. He has been watching everyday to see if they are dead.

2 weeks ago when I first planted

My little boys raised bed

This is the raised bed that I built for my 2 boys, so that they can grow their own thing and don't bother my beds. We put some seeds into it and it's already too hot for peas to grow. But anyways, the boys love going out there with me.

My own creation!!

My 2 raised beds that I built . Big Billy did help me to put together the wood part. LOL. But I did everything else. The irrigation piping, (thanks to Evan Featherstone got me jump started). Love the irrigation part - like playing lego. Even the plastic pipe frame and net, they are all hand made. I am pretty proud of myself. Only if the vegetables would grow and climb up!! cross my fingers. The 3'X8' bed mainly growing Tomato, pepper, beans, cucumber and beans. The 2'X6' one mainly just herbs and strawberries. We will see if i am going to kill them all before Hot summer comes.

Kind of deep.

There are so many pleasures provided by the garden that it is incomprehensible to me that people would make an arbitrary policy to deny it to themselves." - Peregrine John

Lesile Doyle - Garden Class

http://www.flickr.com/photos/8773704@N06/

This is the website of Lesile Doyle. Me and Michele went to her garden class at her house. I am still amazed how did she do that?

Do you like worms? I don't..

I don't like worm. Don't want to touch them. But I know their casting are best for the garden. I just have to try. At least I said I have done it. If it doesn't work. Here you go to see some weird stuffs. Be prepared.

The plants are ready to plant...but my raised bed isn't ready

3/16/09. I took photos of my plants today. The tomato and bell peppers are doing pretty good. they are ready to go out to the sun. But my raised bed still isn't done. I hope that day will come. It's on my honey do list.
